Owens & Co. and Bones and Feathers Featured on KHNL Sunrise Morning Show
So we awoke this morning to the fantastic news that the Sunrise Morning Show and Lei Chic featured a piece on Bones and Feathers, one of the jewelry lines we carry at Owens & Co. The jewelry from Bones and Feathers has been one of our most popular items in the store and has a lot of people talking and we’re so thrilled to be carrying them exclusively in Hawaii. I’m not sure if there’s a better way to start the day than seeing our name on TV! It was a great piece and we want to thank our friends at Lei Chic for setting it up. Owens & Co. in Contrast
So our friend Daniel Ito, the editor at our beloved Contrast Magazine, stopped by the shop to say hi and do a quick interview. As usual, Ito charmed the socks off us and did a really great writeup on the store on the Contrast blog. Thanks Ito, you’re always welcome at Owens & Co. You can check out the story below and make sure you support local, indigenous journalism and our friends at Contrast. You can read the write up in its entirety by clicking…you guessed it….here!
We’re Featured on Lei Chic!
We were ecstatic to find a write-up on Owens & Co. from Lei Chi in our email this morning! In case you missed it, here’s a quick pull quote:
“Owens Mull combed Etsy and blogs for the little-known finds joyfully scattered throughout the airy space: colorfully-painted glasses by New Arcadia Studio, a rainbow of patterned Kerry Cassill linens, Rifle Paper and Egg Press notecards, and even pillows she covered with hand-embroidered textiles from the Otomi Indians in Mexico.
And it’s not just about decorating your home. You’ll feel good as gold in the oddly cool bone-inspired jewelry from up-and-comer Bones and Feather, and the surprisingly delicate and feminine skull and moon necklaces from Michelle Chang.
There’s also hand-poured candles, desktop-sized greens from Lanikai Pots and Plants, and the first issues of hard-to-find Bay-area-based home and lifestyle magazine Anthology.
It’s the perfect gift stop to keep your boss from seeing red. Because if your silver tongue can’t get you out of trouble, a least you’ll have a chic way to brown nose.”

photographic proof
Hello all! Just wanted to say thanks for taking a look at the website and give a special shoutout to everyone that has stopped by and visited the store since we opened our doors on Friday. It’s been an amazingly busy week, but between showcasing our new custom-fabricated line of pillows, Kerry Cassill bedding, and our card collections from Rifle Paper Co. and Egg Press I’ve finally found the time to post a few photos. I’ve also found a line of Moroccan poufs to puff as well! So stop on by the store and tell your friends we’re now officially open for business.
opening night at Owens & Co.!
Wow! So it’s with a beaming smile that I can finally say that Owens & Co. is officially open for business. After more planning and work than I care to admit, we actually made it and couldn’t be happier! Huge mahalos to all of our lovely friends and family (I’m looking at you Isla, Kaypee, Chris,Tracy, Amber, Evan, the Mull clan, and so many others) for all of the help—there’s no way we could have done this without you guys. So without further adieu, enjoy the pics (courtesy our friend Tracy at Nonstop Honolulu) and tell your friends we’re open. —M.
