Fall Color
Fall is in the air and I’m loving the fact that moody colors are coming out of hibernation. Saw this roundup by one of my favorite bloggers, the all-around-awesome-mommy-to-be, Joy Cho of Oh Joy! fame. Check out the rhinestone bracelet from Ettika, we’ve got ‘um in the shop now!
Aussie Attraction
We are loving the casual sophistication of Sarah Davison’s 1920s Spanish Mission-style apartment located at Tamarama Beach in Sydney, Australia. Davison is the principal designer and founder of Ara Design Studio, an award-winning firm from Down Under. Check out more of Sarah’s work here.
Pretty Moody
Photographing anything from lush florals to minimal interiors, New York photographer, Lesley Unruh can bring out the beauty in just about anything. Her lovely compositions have us smitten. You can check out more of her work here.
Shocking Pink
For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to find the perfect, punchy-pink lipstick. While surfing around online I discovered what I think may be the superlative shade of shocking pink. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to pull it off, but I am determined to wear “Schiap” by Nars which is undoubtably inspired by the legendary Elsa Schiaparelli. I also found a few fun pics of rooms to match, enjoy!
A Natural Progression
Southern Belle
One of my recent “color crushes” has been on just about any shade of coral. I think it’s an uplifting, versatile, and very fun color, especially for summer. I was delighted to find a wonderful dose of of coral in this Birmingham, Alabama kitchen that was recently featured in Southern Living magazine. Lindsey Ellis Beatty, who is the decorating editor at the magazine, was the creative genius behind the kitchen remodel of her 1930s cottage. I’m absolutely in love with her herringbone marble backsplash and her “greige” cabinets. Beatty’s mix of fabrics, art, and furniture really finish the room and make it one of my current favorites. Summer Brights
I just received the September issue of House Beautiful in the mail and I am completely smitten with one of the featured homes. Designer Mona Ross Berman got really fresh in this Jersey shore home with a clean white backdrop with lots of punchy colors and mod references. I can’t decide which is my favorite room, but it might have to be the master bedroom with it’s coral and white painted Chevron floors.
